- Itchy Feet 10-3 | Entry: CALL 020 7095 1978 TO BOOK | See MoreMore Details
Call POW London on 020 7095 1978 to book your tickets!
We had such good time in Brixton that we’re going to do it all over again in the New Year.
Our new haunt – the Prince of Wales – is a cabaret of the highest calibre, a stone’s throw away from the Brixton underground. It’s time to work off those Christmas puddings (we know you had second servings) and swing yourselves around the dancefloor. If you can manage it of course…
Trust us to provide you with the best sounds of the last generation, the perfect blend of class and crass. Music taken seriously, which doesn’t take itself seriously, which means you can let loose with our DJ’s all night and not feel too guilty about it in the morning…
So join us on Saturday 31st January for another serving of what was, quite frankly, an ourtageously raucous party. We have a terrace, a hotel room (it is an old hotel room – bed not included, sorry) and a stage for you to perform and judge each other on the best moves.
We can’t wait to see you there and in the meantime love having this little number stuck in our heads:
We’re gonna rock down to Electric Avenue, And then we’ll take it higher…
What is /Where is the Venue? Is it a pub? Yes Is it a club? Yes Is it near KFC? OH YES!
We’ve got 3 floors of fun for you. Including what must surely be one of the best roof terraces in London. But fear not – they have just this week installed a retractable roof, and heating! Bringing a whole host of indoor/outdoor options for us to toy with.
What is Itchy Feet? If you’re not familiar to Itchy Feet – welcome! In Summary, we’re a collective of DJs and events people who spend our time touring around the UK throwing parties. We got bored of listening to the same old tunes, or going to weird nights that were focused all the wrong things, and decided to host our own. Since the attic we launched in, on a Leeds backstreet in 2007, a lot has changed, but not the basic premis – all you need for a great party, is awesome music, and awesome people.
Most importantly – our music is differnet. Funk, Soul, Rock n Roll, Rhyhthm & Blues, Reggae and Ska – at Itchy Feet – it’s all about the old.

The Prince of Wales’s weekly Friday, ‘Brixton Boogaloo’, returns after the festive break on Feb 13th in tandem once again with Skylarkin Soundsystem, and welcoming to headline the legendary Daddy G of Massive Attack fame.
WITH SUPPORT FROM WE LOVE VINYL AND GROOVESCHOOL. A £1 donation from every ticket goes to the Grooveschool Charity.
Daddy G http://massiveattack.com/ There’s not much one can say about this loping, deep-voiced musical behemoth that is Grant Marshall that hasn’t been uttered already in the many fawning plaudits that have peppered his lengthy career as a DJ, producer, performer and Tall One Out Of Massive Attack. His contribution to the Bristol collective has resulted in some of the most soulful, edgy and uplifting records that this country has produced in the past 20 years – from Unfinished Sympathy and Hymn Of The Big Wheel right up to recent collaborations with the likes of Terry Callier, Mos Def and Snoop Dogg.
Like his band, Daddy G’s DJ sets eschew time and trend to hit the mark on every occasion – as highlighted on his excellent DJ Kicks mix for K7. Expect to hear deep and dubby reggae, hip hop, soul, garage, drum & bass and block party gems that hark back to his 80s soundsystem days with the Wild Bunch. http://www.dj-kicks.com/
Count Skylarkin & MC Deemas J www.skylarkinsoundsystem.c
om Irish born and London raised, Count Skylarkin mixes reggae with soul, ska, dancehall, dubstep, jump blues, jungle and anything else he likes the sound of, to devastating effect. The Count’s passion for classic Jamaican sounds has led to him tour DJing for The Wailers and sharing stages with The Specials, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Toots & The Maytals, The Skatalites, Prince Buster, Alton Ellis, Max Romeo, Dawn Penn, Mad Professor, Andrew Weatherall, Don Letts, Jerry Dammers, Trojan Soundsystem, Benga, DJ Yoda, Alex Paterson (The Orb), Mr Hudson, Massive Attack’s Daddy G and Horace Andy among many others. Accompanied on the mic by Tru Thoughts live-wire mic-man (and 90s rave scene legend) Deemas J.
“Rhythm and blues meets rocksteady, calls round for ska and rock and roll to see if they’re playing out before heading round to drum ‘n’ bass’s place for a party right out of the top drawer” www.bigchill.net
Bam Bam Sound http://www.mixcloud.com/
Bam_Bam_Sound/ First time at the new Prince of Wales for these two wannabe rude boys, also known as Duck and Johnny Clash. Residents at The Big Chill Bar, London since its birth, the pair serve up a tropical heatwave of dancehall, bashment, soca, trap, d&b and garage that’s so hot it’s got malaria.

- Slide Easter Sunday with Greg Wilson (3 Hr Terrace set), Justin Robertson, Eskimo Twins 3-4 | Entry: £10-£20 | See MoreMore Details
Greg Wilson (3 hour terrace set) Dom Chung. Henry Greenwood. Lloyd Wakeman
Justin Robertson Eskimo Twins. Steve Robinson
6-11pm Point hosting 11pm-4am Rich Smith. Em Williams. Tom Drew. Stav
Slide’s first shindig of the summer sees a return to the terrace for the first time since 2011 of the legendary Greg Wilson, spinning for 3 hours, with support across the venue from Justin Robertson, Eskimo Twins and more.
Both DJ and producer, Greg Wilson was associated with the early 80’s electro scene in the UK. Two decades on, he found himself a dedicated global gathering as part of the emerging disco renaissance. Originally known for playing funk, soul, disco, and later jazz-funk records, in 1983 he was named North’s top DJ, with his nights at Wigan Pier and Manchester’s Legend voted the regions best by Blues & Soul readers. That year he became the first DJ to mix live on British TV, put together the first UK re-edit, and taught a young Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) how to scratch. In 1984 Wilson started producing tracks rather than playing them, debuting with ‘UK Electro’ for Street Sounds. In 1994 he re-visited his electro-funk past, compiling ‘Classic Electro Mastercuts’. As well as being a DJ / producer, Wilson has also written articles for magazines including Wax Poetics, Clash and Grand Slam.
The term legend is often banded about far too easily, but in this case it is entirely accurate! Justin Robertson is a producer and DJ, who brings with him a rich history as one of the creators of the Electronic Music scene, as well as a restless need to push forward and innovate, making him one of the most relevant DJs around.
Slide regulars the Eskimo Twins warm things up for Justin in the club. Since meeting as students in Leeds, these two friends have shared their passion for music. The pair immersed themselves in the city’s clubbing and live music scenes and after discovering a mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid and a lingering teenage love of Metal; they began making music together.
Support across the venue comes from Dom Chung, residents Henry Greenwood, Lloyd Wakeman, Steve Robinson and more.
