  • Rubadub 10-5 | Entry: £7 / £9 MOTD | See More

People it’s time to buckle up and brace yourselves for the latest and greatest chapter of Rubadub London. We bring you a special night of musical upliftment from three generations of heavyweights in the Dub & Roots arena.

Channel One Sound System – the foundation and inspiration for this night. The humble warrior, Mikey Dread & the chanting general, MC Ras Kayleb have consistently brought the vibration of Roots, Rock, Reggae through the power of sound system from the dark streets of London to the rest of the world for the past 30 years. Roots from the archives and dubplates from the heavens are sure to descent on this spiritual gathering.

The Disciples – Russ Disciple a true disciple of dub. As a producer, Russ D has been at the forefront of the steppa’s style that has shaped the selection of sound system such as Channel One & Jah Shaka since the late 80′s. With an eclectic selection of a true veteran, and dubs more dangerous than steppin into the wild-west without a weapon. So come, join us in this exclusive session, to see Russ alongside the mighty Donovan Kingjay with no objection.

Donovan Kingjay – expect a lyrical athlete in full flight during The Disciple deliverance. Donovan has firmly established himself as both an MC and artist, chanting regularly on the Channel One System and recently releasing his newest album ‘Higher Meditation’. So prepare for the ital serving of a voice with the sweetness of manuka honey combined with the power of thunder, earthquake, brimstone and fire.

Tudor Lion – a crew-member of the Channel One Sound System and resident selector for Rubadub Manchester is one to watch out for from a collection of the emerging generation of sound system ites. Having played at Rototom Reggae Sunsplash, Outlook Festival and established a strong presence in Leeds it is more than a pleasure to invite him to stoke the fire in Brixton.

    - Roots Guidance Sound – – the night will be powered by the floor-shaking Roots Guidance machine. Inspired by the likes of Channel One and more than familiar with selecting Disciples dubplates to bellow out of their own hand crafted sound system, Rory and Ollie have been refining their art as sound system operators since they were strong enough to lift their scoops to the dance.

Coming through to provide the vibes we know your stomach needs, we’ll have the fledgling Misbash Chicken Stack holding down the grill. They’ll be providing a range of mouth-watering chicken and vegetable snacks for you all night.
